As we look ahead to 2016, I pray that you are prepared to live hopeful and be helpful in light of all that the Lord has in store for you. It is an encouraging thought that God has already has written down in His book every thought, deed, and event that will take place on every day in the upcoming year (Psalm 139:16). It is also an encouraging thought to know that God has plans for our welfare that are to give us a hope and a future that is blessed and allows us to be a blessing (Jeremiah 29:7, 11).

For the Christian, there is nothing so promising and encouraging as the future. While we certainly can draw strength from what was and see all the promises God has kept, we can take what we have come to know and look forward knowing that God has many unfulfilled promises yet to be revealed. That is inspiring and that is what we are going to focus on in 2016.

Our focus for 2016 is “What’s Next!” We are going to look at the future promises of God that we can hold to and live in light of. It is wise to know the destination before setting out on the journey. There are many among us who do not have the hope of eternal life and do not long for the Lord’s returning. This year, we are going to examine the Lord’s return from several different perspectives and be challenged to map out our lives in light of our forever.

It’s easy to get caught up in the needs of now and avoid the facts of the future. The reality of what is to come needs to be the driving hope that presses us forward and determines the choices that we make. Given the fact that eternity is coming and we will be there forever, it only makes sense that we would make decisions in this life in light of our eternal destiny.

Every Sunday will be a good Sunday to bring a friend or family member and enable them to hear the Gospel preached, experience worship in Spirit and Truth, and enjoy the love of our family.

There are some special dates that I want you to go ahead and begin to pray for and plan around.

  • February 7th: Spiritual Renewal Sunday
We will look at Revelation 20 and be amazed at the power of God, as He brings about restoration to our world and makes all things new!
  • March 20th: Palm Sunday
We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper and prepare ourselves for Holy Week. We will be reminded of how Jesus went down for us, so we could be raised up with Him.
  • March 24th/27th: Easter Services
We will have at least six services this year. The first will be on Thursday night at 7 pm. The other five will be on Sunday at 8 in the Worship Center and at 9:30 and 11:00 in the Worship Center and Chapel.  It is one of the best times of the year to bring family and friends to hear the Gospel and experience the worship gathering at Living Hope.
  • May 29th: Memorial Day Service
This will be the Sunday when we recognize those who have served our nation and blessed us with their sacrifices. We won’t have the Patriotic Service in June. We will take this opportunity to pray for God’s blessing on our nation and to live to be salt and light in our country.
  • The Month of July: Living Hope’s 40th Anniversary Celebration
We turn 40 years old this year and we are going to take an entire month to reflect on where God has brought us and get focused on What’s Next for us.
  • November 20th: Gift for Christ
We will celebrate God’s grace and give gifts that enable those around the world who have never heard to hear from those we send in 2017.
  • December 4th: Christmas Kickoff
That morning we want to create a special morning of worship so that we can invite family and friends to a special worship experience that will set their hearts aright in light of the coming season. That night we will invite everyone to come back for a time of fellowship and to enjoy the sounds of Christmas in a concert that utilizes the musical gifts of our church family.
  • December 24th: Christmas Eve Services
We anticipate offering at least three services next year at 2:00, 3:30, and 5:00.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming year. God is going to be at work to save many souls, to heal many hearts, and to build His Kingdom and we get to be a part of it!
