We are heading into summer at a rapid pace, but we need to slow down and take some time to celebrate! We have been blessed in so many ways here at Living Hope and during the month of May, we are going to focus on the ways God has shown His goodness to us.
On Sunday, May 1, we are going to celebrate the Lord’s Supper and our OrphanCare ministry. The Lord’s Supper reminds us of the life we have in Christ. God has adopted us into His eternal family and made us His own. Our OrphanCare ministry also helps families who are pursuing adoption or foster care to bring children into a loving home. Just this week, a need arose in our city. A single mom needed someone to care for her five children while she gave birth to her sixth child. Within hours a family from Living Hope opened their doors to these children and, through the generosity of many, these children were provided with clothing and other needs. Praise the Lord!
On Sunday, May 8, we will celebrate our mothers and thank them for their love and care. We’ll also hold our Family Dedication ceremony on Mother’s Day, which is the first milestone in our Family Discipleship ministry. Praise the Lord!
On Sunday, May 15, we will celebrate our graduates. We have over thirty young people graduating this year and we are going to commission them to their next step. Praise the Lord!
On Sunday, May 22, we will start a new series: Map Out Your Faith. We are going to take several weeks to renew our confidence and commitment to our Articles of Faith. These are the doctrines we consider primary to the Christian faith that give us our Living Hope. Praise the Lord!
On Sunday, May 29, we will give thanks to those who have sacrificed for our freedom. We have religious freedom because of the men and women who have sacrificed for us. We will celebrate them and talk about what it means to be a faithful Christian in a fallen world, in a culture that is getting further and further from God. Praise the Lord!
God is at work at Living Hope! We are seeing lives changed every week. Continue to pray for the church, as we seek to reach 1% of our community by leading more people to anchor their life and hope in Jesus and help them to walk the Disciple’s Pathway: Worship, Connect, Serve, Equip, and Multiply.
One last thing: mark your calendars for July 31. We are going to celebrate Living Hope’s 40th anniversary. During the month of July, we are going to look back and remember what God has done in our past and look forward to what we hope to see God do in the future. Every Sunday will be a great celebration. Our text for the month will be Joshua 1. On Sunday afternoon, July 31, we will have a great celebration. Please plan now to be there.
